Turk Hill Craft School to hold annual Throw-A-Thon | Arts & Culture
Turk Hill Craft School in Fairport, will host its 5th annual Throw-A-Thon. The event is Saturday, March 26 from 4 to 9 PM and dinner will be served at 6:00pm.
The event is free and open to the public, but attendees are invited to bring a dish to pass. Over 50 potters are expected at this year’s Throw-A-Thon, where they will create more than 200 bowls to be used at the Catholic Family Center (CFC) Empty Bowls event in mid-October. More than 400 pounds of clay have been donated by Rochester Ceramics for the Throw-A-Thon event.
Empty Bowls is CFC’s Homeless and Housing fundraiser that takes place each fall to raise awareness of homelessness in our community. With the purchase of a ticket, attendees select a beautiful hand-crafted bowl, soup, bread, drink and dessert. Guests are invited to take their ceramic bowls home, and encouraged to remember that there are many in our community who live in poverty and go to bed hungry.
