Deputies: Father leaves children alone in car while shopping at Eastview Mall | Crime

Police have charged a Fairport father who left his two children alone in a car while he shopped at Eastview Mall.

Troopers were called to the mall to check the welfare of two children, ages four and one, who were left in a car with no signs of an adult.

Mall security put out a page inside the mall in an attempt to locate the parents. Approximately 30 minutes later, their father – Thomas Gearhart – returned to his vehicle with items purchased in the mall.
 
Gearhart was arrested and was give an appearance ticket to appear in the Victor Town Court at a later date.
