East Rochester man charged with harassment

A 52-year-old East Rochester man is charged with harassment.

Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies say Michael Barone was charged with second-degree harassment on July 3. He was remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail.

Barone is due back in North Dansville Town Court at a later date.
 

Woman tried to cash forged check at Perinton bank

Deputies are looking for a woman who attempted to cash a forged check. It happened at the M&T Bank in Perinton on July 6.

Deputies say the check was in the amount of $474.72 and drawn on an account for Upstate Furniture Outlet, LLC.

The woman showed a driver’s license in the name the check was made out to but the bank clerk can not be certain the female in the photo is the same woman who showed the ID.

East Rochester man charged with DWI

A 52-year-old East Rochester man was arrested on June 27 for DWI.

Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies have charged Michael Barone with DWI, aggravated DWI and improper left turn. He was arraigned and remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.

Barone is due back in Livonia Town Court at a later date.

Fairport cemetery vandalized

A cemetery was violated in Fairport Saturday evening at St. Mary's cemetery near Turk Road in Fairport.

Headstones were pushed to the ground; at least a dozen were vandalized. News 10NBC put a call into Fairport Police, but haven't received a call back. It was just 19 days ago 70 headstones at Mt. Hope cemetery were vandalized.

Rochester police said that was first the time in fifty years mount hope cemetery was vandalized to this degree.

Man uses hammer to rob convenience store

Police are searching for man who used an unusual weapon to rob a 7-Eleven store Saturday evening. It happened just before 8 p.m. at 1304 Fairport Road in Perinton.

Police say the man entered the store brandishing a hammer. He then jumped over the counter and forced open the cash register. The suspect then left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen heading west on foot.

He is described as a white male, about 6’1” tall. He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and yellow and brown shorts. If you have any information please call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Rochester man arrested in connection with a shooting of a Fairport man

A Rochester man has been arrested in connection with a shooting of a Fairport man.

Tydairous Sanchez, 20, of Rochester is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say Sanchez shot Justin Beard, of Fairport, at the Sunoco gas station on West Main Street around 3:15am on Saturday June 11. Police say Beard was sitting in his vehicle at the gas pumps, when Sanchez and another man approached him and yelled at him. Beard was shot in the abdomen and drove himself to Strong Hospital.

Sanchez was arrested at the Microtel in Henrietta in the early morning hours on June 16. He will be arraigned in Rochester City Court this morning.

Woman arrested after ER cop-DWI crash says she was "thrown down" by deputy

She volunteered to talk after after her East Rochester police friend was charged with DWI. But when she wanted to leave she said a Sheriff's deputy threw her down and she says she has the bruises to prove it.

Sergeant Paul Monachino was arrested for DWI early Tuesday morning after a crash with a minivan that injured three teenagers.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says a friend of Sgt. Monachino, Coleen Morrello, tried to take the fall for him.

Sheriff's spokesman John Helfer sais 41-year-old Coleen Morrello came to the scene of the crash and told police that she had been driving.
She was taken in for questioning and, according to Helfer, a "scuffle" broke out injuring a female deputy.

Morrello is charged with harassment and resisting arrest and more charges are pending.
