Festa Italia to be held in East Rochester this weekend | Events
This year marks the inaugural Italian festival, Festa Italia, a colorful cultural event hosted by the Village of East Rochester and Festa Italia Productions.
“The whole object of the event is to recreate the Italian American experience and culture, not only in the East Rochester community, but our whole country,” said event organizer Tom Bowers.
Here are some event highlights:
Sample authentic Italian fare from local vendors, from sausage to pizza and baked desserts. Wine tasting will also be offered.
2. Bocce tournament
The tournament will be held in three rounds, one per day. Register up to five members per team for $200 between 4-5 p.m. on Friday. Applications are available online at www.festaitaliaer.com.
Hear music from opera singer Giada Valenti each night at 7:30 p.m. followed by tributes to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin by impersonators Henry Prego and Joe Scalisi at 9:30 p.m.
4. Art vendors
Browse special handcrafted works of art from area artisans, exhibits by cultural organizations.
