A man has been taken into custody after an incident at the Penfield Town Library.
The Penfield Town Library Director told News10NBC that a staff member saw a man in the library crouching on the floor in the children's area of the library. The staff member told the library director that the activity didn't look right and the library director called 911. The man ran out of the library.
The library director says Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies responded quickly, got a description and took the man into custody. Authorities have confirmed to News10NBC that the man is Anthony Perri, 49, and he is being charged with sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. According to court papers obtained by News10NBC, Perri is accused of taken off a girl's shoe, touching her foot and pressing the girl's foot against his mouth and nose.
The library director says that they are aware of similar incidents at other libraries in the area, but Sheriff's deputies have not confirmed any connection.
